New era for cardiac pacing in heart failure

Pacing therapy for heart failure has progressed steadily. However, the limitations of biventricular pacing remain to be overcome. His Purkinje conduction system pacing can preserve physiological ventricular activation. The feasibility and clinical benefits of His bundle pacing had been described whereas left bundle branch area pacing was suggested as an effective alternative to overcome the limitations of His bundle pacing. This session will focus on new insight into the physiological pacing: capture and propagation in the conduction system and adjacent ventricle, technically challenging to implant the lead safely, simply, and successfully, and alternative therapy in patients with indication of cardiac resynchronization therapy. Clinical issues and indication of physiological pacing for heart failure will be discussed with experts and audiences.
